Lame duck

I usually love M. Night's movies but this one left me feeling like I had wasted my money and time. Don't bother, I wouldn't even rent the DVD.

Shamalan wat happened?

M. Night Shamalan really out did himself, this movie was not as expected. I give the movie 0 stars out of 5. I was expecting more from him in this new release.

M. Night Is Back

This eclectic director and writer proved his talent with Sixth Sense and Unbreakable. His later films have been interesting but lacked power and his legendary ability to surprise.

This film works as horror and suspense but there is also a subtle message underneath that I won't spoil here. I'm not sure other reviewers saw that message and the director never makes it explicit but it's there.

The characters and interactions are convincing and sympathetic. Both Leguizamo and Wahlberg do excellent work here as well. The movie and characters are quirky and both of those actors carry it off well.

The Happening

It was painful watching this movie! What was Shyalaman thinking?! His other movies are great but this one didn't have a good twist at the end and the acting sucked! Don't waste your money on this one. Wait til it comes out on video if you must see it!
