HO229 Homebuyer Education Methods: Training the Trainer
The Minnesota Home Ownership Center will be offering NeighborWorks Home Buyer Education Training for housing professionals that conduct Home Stretch workshops in Minnesota, or other professionals interested in pre-purchase education. This training will take place at Coldwell Banker University in Edina. The training is designed to:
Teach participants how to deliver a comprehensive homebuyer education workshop in a group setting;
Use the best materials and methods to train homebuyers to get a mortgage loan, improve their budget and credit profile and shop for a home;
Improve facilitation skills and how to deliver an interactive training based on adult education methods.

Participants interested in obtaining a Certificate of Professional Recognition in homebuyer education training (issued by NeighborWorks®) are required to complete an online exam following the training. This certificate is a requirement for Home Stretch providers.


COSTS:
The deadline for registration, at a cost of $410.00 is Friday, June 6th. Late registration (with the Center's permission only) is $460.00).
FOOD:
Continental breakfast and afternoon snacks will be provided each day. Lunch is on your own.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
The Center has reserved a block of 15 rooms at a room rate of $89.00/night at the La Quinta Inn and Suites in Bloomington (2 miles from the training location). To reserve a room, call 952-830-1300. Rooms are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. This block of rooms will be available through Monday, June 1st.

REFUND POLICY:
A tuition refund will be granted, less a $25.00 handling charge, to those individuals requesting withdrawal at least 48 hours before the start of the first session. No refunds will be granted after the 48 hour deadline.
